Why do we fail to achieve our dreams?

Hi peeps!

If you’ve been reading my last few blogs, you know I’ve been trying to get back to my rhythm of writing my blogs one week prior to posting them. Another week gone by, and still haven’t been able to do that. Will try again this week. Also, I received feedback on the last blog as well - that it was too long. Haha. I’ll keep that in mind people. :D
Coming to this topic now. I was really struggling to understand what to write about this time. This is something that has been on my mind for the last few days so I thought let’s write about this only.
All of us dream. We dream about a better life for ourselves. We aspire to be successful and happy. The definition of happiness and success is also unique to each person.
Some aspire for financial freedom while some aspire to be billionaires. Some of us dream to be able to travel throughout our lives. Some of us dream of happy and fulfilling relationships in life. Some of us dream to be their own bosses. Some of us dream of a private life in the hills. Some of us dream of a social life in the hubs. Some of us, dream.
And how do we achieve these dreams? What is it that we do to achieve them?
Mostly, we just keep dreaming about them. Day and night. Or when we see someone living our dream. Or when we realise we are not living our dream.
Will it help you get there? Thinking about it?
Do you even know what it will take you to achieve your dream? Do you know the route you need to take? Do you know the vehicle that you’ll need?
Why don’t we ever get close to understanding these questions?
Because we don’t spend enough time on them. Trying to figure out the details.
I once spoke to a friend who wanted to be a billionaire and did not know how many zeroes are there in a billion.
That’s how ignorant we are. We dream, but we don’t care about our dreams.
If you want to go to the UK, and do not know where UK is, what are the chances that you’ll get there? Let me tell you. ZERO. Unless you turn out lucky and fate takes you there. I don’t account for those.
Think about this. You have to spend enough time understanding your dream in depth. You have to visualise the details. And then work on it.
There is a lot of research involved here.
Want to live on an Australian coast? Figure out which of them has residential properties. Understand the cost of living in that country. How much do different sizes of house cost? Do you need to buy one or can you rent one? What is the approximate rent? Do you want to live alone or with family? Will you need a 2BHK or 3BHK? WHat is the approximate pricing? How will you earn your livelihood there? Are there enough jobs? Which companies can you work with? DO you want to work remotely instead? What are the different ways to make money remotely/online?
This list never ends. Go deeper into your dreams. Ask yourself these questions.
Once you understand this in enough depth, that’s when the actionables start becoming clear. What is it that you will need to get there? Do you already have it? How can you have it?
Superficial dreams never get fulfilled. If you’re not making the effort of moving towards it, if every month, your dream in your head hasn’t moved forward - became closer, or clearer, you will not make it.
Spend time, and effort. Brainstorm. Achieving dreams involves a lot of work. And it starts with understanding it better.
Jai Jinendra.
